Gospel of Thomas Lectio Divina

The practice of Lectio Divina, or Sacred Reading, is a time-honored way to allow Scripture to come to life within us — taking root in the world from the inside out. Putting this practice together with the Gospel of Thomas allows us to hear, receive, and put into practice the teachings of Jesus in a way that goes beyond dogmatism — to where the words of the Living Teacher come alive in new and unexpected ways.

This group meets from 11:30 AM -12:30 PM EST on Thursdays:

November 5, 12, 19

December 10, 17

Suggested donation $10 per meeting.

This is a drop-in group, though do please email me for more information: info@henryschoenfield.com

On the ground

I Am: A Sacred Doorway to Presence

December 5, Holy Family, West Hartford, CT

The seven "I AM" statements in John's Gospel reveal Jesus' identity. Through Dr. Neil Douglas-Klotz's heart-centered Aramaic lens, they also illuminate our own identity and path to deeper Divine Presence.

This Christian contemplative day explores these sayings with a focus on Presence, belonging, and connection to God. We'll engage through guided reflection, chant, embodied awareness, and quiet prayer—listening for each phrase's living resonance in an unhurried, nurturing space.
